Well, I really don't have to tell you what kind of week I've had - because I spilled that all out for you yesterday.
What I do need to do today is look back at the goals I set at the beginning of this challenge and see how
Before I get to that - let's get to the "big" work-out I had planned for yesterday evening. I didn't go to the park...
Don't panic!! I worked out, I just really had a rough time making myself go out in 90 degree weather.. PLUS my allergies are SUPER bad....yeah, I know, excuses, excuses. Working out at home is almost just as good - it's better than nothing.
I remember this time last year blogging about my allergies not being too bad - and probably having to do with being outside so much. I think I should give that a go again - but DAMN they're bad. I wake up with my eyes glued shut, I'm so congested that my head feels like a constant water balloon just waiting to explode....I know, eww, right? Guess I'm gonna just have to take baby steps - and see how it goes.
OK - now on to the hard stuff....the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the challenge...here they are, and how I did:
- Hit Onederland - FAIL - not even close!! Weight is coming up next.
- Increase my weekly amount of exercise - FAIL - I decreased...I went from very little, to urm..NONE
- Average at least 5 miles a week of running - FAIL!! Think I did this the first week, and that's it
- 30 minutes of strength training at least twice a week - FAIL - no strength training, except for last night
- Keep caloric intake below 1600 calories per day - Almost Pass - Was doing this up until this past weekend
- Try at least one new recipe/ food per week - FAIL - again, did it the first week, nothing after that
Now, let's get to the numbers.
My starting weight for this challenge: 216lbs
My weight ending this challenge: 211lbs
I lost 5lbs - a total percentage of weight loss of 2.3%
That's not bad - except for this time last week I weighed 209.8lbs. I gained 1.2lbs this week - which I'm shocked about...I expected much more than that.
It's no surprise that I've been in trouble for a while now. There's so many things going on with me -it's hard to pinpoint the exact cause. I really should have no worries, I'm done with school, I'm not working - I have plenty of time to work-out.
Maybe that's the problem. I was so used to having a hectic schedule and making my weight loss a part of that crazy routine worked for me. I enjoyed getting off work and heading to the track. I enjoyed planning my meals, because it was so easy to be organized and prepared for work and school. I just don't know.
I guess I just need to find my groove again. Today, Jelly and I are heading off to the Farmer's Market and to the park. I need some activities - I CAN'T sit around the house. Tonight I'm going to do some Zumba.... it's more of a fun type of work-out....and I need some fun.
Hopefully, by the time the next challenge is announced - I will have found me again...I will be back in the saddle ready to finally commit and check all of my goals off the list with a PASS!!
Till next time. ;)

Congratulations on your loss!!!
ReplyDeleteJoanna, it makes me so sad to see that big red FAIL on your goals. You didn't fail, you just didn't pass :) You can do it though and our next challenge will kick your ass into gear for sure :) It will be a teams challenge with online bootcamp, so you will have lots of people keeping you from not passing :)
Good job on the 5 pounds. I agree with Christy..we don't fail. maybe didn't get an A+ but as long as you try you pass. And that 5 pound loss says you tried!
ReplyDeleteThe sad truth is, I really didn't try. I have no idea how I lost those 5lbs - it wasn't really from putting an effort in, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited about the next challenge. I was just thinking maybe it's time to look into boot camp again - but then I remember, I'm unemployed and broke..LOL An online bootcamp sounds AWESOME!!
