BYOC - Bring Your Own Crazy

Yesterday was a rough day.  Being that I spilled my heart out over on my other blog www.travelingmymind.blogspot.com - you can read about it there.  Here, I'm going to keep things upbeat.

What better way to do that than with a little BYOC - Bring Your Own Crazy.  Thanks to my friend Drazil, I will be, again, following in her footsteps and answering her random - yet fun - questions...

1. If you could pick any name on Earth for yourself – would you change yours and what would it be?

This is a tough question.  I've been asked many times if I could change my name, what would I change it to - and I honestly don't know.  Joanna is OK, I guess.  A little generic for my liking - but it's who I am.  I really don't know of a name that I've ever heard and thought "aw, I wish that was MY name".

I really like off the wall names, and places for names.  India, Asia, London - all names I love... my dog's name is Asia..LOL  I'm not sure I would pick one of those names for myself, but I could see myself as a London - if I hadn't have been born there.  If I named myself that now, well...it would just be weird.

2.  If you're a worker outer...what time do you partake in such activities?  There are SO many theories about when it's best and not best to work out...like the morning is better since you have an empty stomach or the night is not good because you won't be able to sleep..etc, etc.  So, I'd like to hear your theories.

I would definitely call myself an evening worker outer.  Like Drazil, I'm more of a "whenever the heck I can fit it in" person - and I've tried all different times of day.  I went through a spell where I tried everything in my power to get up early and do yoga at the beginning of the day.  That worked better when I went to the gym to do it - not so much when I did it at home.  Being that Hubby doesn't get home from work until 7:30am, my 5am yoga session at the gym was short lived.

I've also been a 4pm - after work worker outer.  I went to the gym each day for about a month - but that started to have it's toll on me...and just didn't work for me.

In the summer months, there's nothing I love more than heading to the track about 6:30 or 7pm.  It's still pretty warm, but cooler than the heat of the day.  It's a great way to de-stress after a long day... I love it.  My only exception to that is going to the track early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday.  Again, a warmer month activity - but there's nothing better than feeling the early morning dew and sun as you're pounding pavement.

3. If you drive a car – what kind is it and if you could drive any car – what would it be?

Right now, I drive a 2008 Mazda 3.  It's completely standard - and I love it....except for the fact that I don't have power windows or locks.  Every car I've owned - up until this one - had power locks and windows.  It's such a pain in the @ss driving down the road - especially now that it's hot - and not being able to open the windows from the driver seat.

If gas prices weren't an issue - I'd totally have a big Dodge extended cab pick-up truck....or one of those trucks that converts in to an SUV.  I LOVE big trucks - especially Dodges.  Hubby says I can't have one unless I can think of a good reason to have one...I can't...so I guess I won't ever be getting one.

4. Can you be totally honest in answering this next question and tell me what you think of tattoos? More importantly – what do you think of the people who have tattoos – specifically women?

This is an easy one for me.  My dad is a 6'4" tattoo DUDE!! He has tattoos all over his body.  Growing up, I accepted them as a part of him - and loved them.  I have a tattoo, on my shoulder.  I love it - and the only reason I don't have more is because they're freaking EXPENSIVE!!!

Now, when it comes to women with tattoos - I think there shouldn't be a double standard, but of course there is.  A lot of professions - teacher included - don't like women with tattoos that are visible.  That's why I opted for a shoulder tat - I can hide it when I want to, show it off when I want to.  I think there are tattoos that are classy, and tattoos that are not as classy.

Being COMPLETELY honest - I don't care for the tattoos that some women have sprawled across their lower backs that say "Juicy" or things along those lines.  I'm also not a big fan of women with sleeves - although that's just a personal choice.  I'm more of a "dainty" tattoo lover -girly things like flowers, or rainbows, dolphins and butterflies.

When first looking at a women with tattoos, I can honestly say I don't automatically judge her.  There are some women with tattoos that make me think "what was she thinking?" or "I wonder if alcohol played a part in that?" - but to define her character? No.  Some women get tattoos cause they're trying to make a statement, some are trying to be rebellious...some, like me, get tattoos because they like them.

5. Repeat question: Summarize your week in blog land and in real life.

Blog land has been pretty good.  I finally got my mojo back the other day - and have introduced my Just Do It mantra for June.  I feel like I'm starting to see where I went wrong, and picking up the pieces of my May failures.  I'm so excited to get back into the full swing of running, and adding extra stuff...also getting on back with my eating.

In real life, things have been...urm..uphill and down hill.  I've enjoyed a week off work spending some time with Jelly.  We've gone to parks, hung out at home, and visited my mom.  I also got the news, yesterday, that I didn't get the job I interviewed for....that put me into a spiral in my other blog land www.travelingmymind.blogspot.com Today, I'm going out for some shopping therapy - always helps put me in a better mood.

OK, that's it for today - RETAIL THERAPIST is calling my name.

Join in, link up, and share some of you CRAZY with me today.

Till next time. ;)
