Biggest Loser Breakdown - It's Finally Almost Over

Dear Diary...

Mad.  Ticked off.  Disgusted.

Just three of many, many words I could use to describe this season of TBL - and what I'm thinking about next week's finale.  It's so bad, I don't want to even watch next week - and the only reason I'm going to is because I want to see how awesome the contestants that went home look.

The fact that there's a 2 in 3 shot of a Britt winning the whole thing makes my blood boil.  It's ridiculous - and I, along with the majority of TBL viewers - are completely outraged.

This week's episode was about finding the 3rd finalist.  Conda and Kim already made it through last week.  Jeremy was eliminated, but given a shot to go up against the eliminated contestants for another shot.  Even though he was totally against the eliminated players getting another shot - because they "didn't work as hard as he did". .WAH!

All the contestants that didn't quit were given another shot.  The first order of business was to weigh them all in.  Only the top 8 losers were going to be allowed to move on to the next round.  Those that made it were Chris, Mike (eliminated week 2), Megan, Cassandra, Emily, Kimmy, Lauren, and Jeremy.

Despite Jeremy's rant about no one else working as hard as he did?  Well, Mike - who was eliminated week 2 because Conda didn't like him - came in 2nd.  Right under Jeremy.  He lost almost the same amount as Jeremy - being at home the whole freakin' time.  I think that was pretty amazing.  I was praying that he'd be the one to get a spot - just to rub it in all their faces that he was gone the whole time, and could still win the whole thing.

The next leg of the challenge was a 100 yard dash.  Chris wasn't medically cleared to compete - so she was automatically eliminated.  That pissed me off a little.  They would have known ahead of time that she wasn't medically fit to compete - so she shouldn't have even been given the chance to compete.  That spot should have gone to the next person in line.  A bit messed up, if you ask me.  The first five contestants to finish were able to move on.  Those five were Mike, Megan, Cassandra, Lauren, and Jeremy - by the freakin' skin of his teeth.  He and Kimmy finished almost neck and neck.  I didn't care for Kimmy - but I would have liked to see her take him out.  Apparently I was not going to get what I wanted at all this week.

The next challenge was a puzzle.  The first three contestants that matched the food to the calories went on to the final round.  Mike finished first.  Again, the person with the least amount of time on the ranch finished the calorie/food matching puzzle in no time.  Then Jeremy got it (dang it!) and lastly it was Lauren who finished.

Last round was balancing on a pole while holding on to a cardboard finale ticket over their head.  Lauren was the first to drop.  Mike and Jeremy battled it out for hours - moving to one arm and then one leg.  I was screaming at the TV for Mike to hold on - to not let go... but the cold got to him and he just couldn't do it anymore.  He feel, leaving Jeremy holding the 3rd spot.

With Jeremy and Conda still having so much weight to lose - I doubt that Kim will be able to pull off enough weight to beat either of them next week.  No doubt one of them will win - which will make my blood boil.

This season has been the worst by far in the history of TBL.  That's no secret or surprise.  We've known that for weeks and weeks.  But, one thing that has happened out of this season - I now realize that Biggest Loser results aren't just available on the ranch.  Those eliminated contestants - most of them - did just a good a job as Conda or Jeremy.  Mike lost 114lbs after only being at the ranch 2 weeks!  If that's not motivational - I don't know what is.

I've realized I don't have to watch a show with a bunch of sniveling, spoiled, catty, immature contestants to get motivation to help me lose weight.  If anything, everyone of those eliminated players were better off by not having to be around those that made it to the end.  Because the Britts are poison.  They are mean, deceitful, and wicked.  I have no doubt in my mind that they'll win that money - and then go off and gain every pound of the weight back.  Because it's not about changing their lives - it's about winning the money.  That makes me very sad.

So, yes, I'll watch next week's finale.  But not to see who the Biggest Loser is.  I want to see who the at-home winner is.  I'm rooting for Mike - he deserves it.  He was forced out of the house because of Conda's vindictiveness, and still managed to kick ass.  It would be great for him to show America that they don't have to watch the show for results.  He's an example of that.

All I know is that I won't be giving next season so many chances.  The first hint I get to another Conda being on the show - and I'm DONE with Biggest Loser for GOOD!

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown - Oh No They Didn't!!

Dear Diary...

I just want to start out by saying that you have no idea how much trouble I've gone to in order to write this post. My goodness.

I woke up nice and early this morning, ready to start pounding away about my horror and disgust over this week's BL episode - and realize that there's no internet connection on my laptop. I don't know why. The internet is working, the router is working, the wireless thingy mabob on my computer shows it's connected - but no internet.

I decided I would try and write my blog on one of my breaks at work - no luck there, either. The computers at school wouldn't let me upload the photo I needed. So, I figure I'll wait until I get home and write on my iPad.

That doesn't work because the Safari browser is all screwy, and won't let me upload the picture I need. And what's my Biggest Loser Breakdown post without the BL pic, am I right? So, finally, I found an app that I could download to use. It cost $2.99, but if it does what I need it to - it's worth the money. So, after all that whining, I can now write this week's breakdown...and boy is it a doozy.

This week, we finally got to the long awaited Walk-Off that was originally reported by TMZ a couple of months ago. Rumors swirled around that contestants had left the ranch, walked away from the show, because eliminated players were going to be allowed back on the ranch for a chance to compete to be in the final four. Then there was rumors that four had left, but only two were allowed back. It was rumor after rumor, and this week would finally reveal the "truth" out of the rumors. Or, what NBC wants us to believe, anyway.

Let me just go right in to saying how sick this episode made me. HOW DARE those contestants try and bully their way to getting what they want! Have they never watched an episode of BL before? Every freakin' season, eliminated contestants are brought back for a chance to compete to be in the final four.

The show started off with the camera crew trying to find the contestants. They were all staging a protest, and producers got wind that the contestants were ready to quit. Bob and Dolvett were called in to try and talk to the contestants - but with no avail. In my opinion both trainers looked about as disgusted as I felt. They tried to play nice and get the contestants to talk - but had no luck.

Finally, Allison showed up with a lawyer to explain to the contestants how they'd signed a contract allowing twists to the story line. The priceless moment of this week's show was when Jeremy complained that he didn't like the surprise - and the lawyer actually pointed out the part of the contract that states that eliminated players would have a chance to compete for the grand prize. Freakin' priceless! His face showed how much he did NOT read his contract.

Finally, it got to the point of revealing what contestants were leaving. I have to say that I was not surprised a bit to see Mark and Buddy getting in to the van to leave. Their "integrity" just wouldn't allow them to stay and compete with people that "didn't deserve" to win. What a load of crocking crap! I would go out on a limb and say that every single eliminated player are more deserving than both of them put together. The amount of backstabbing, whining, excuse filled garbage those two have spewed since being on the show made me very happy to say a big BUH-BYE to both of them. Of course, that meant that AnaConda stayed. UGH!!

After all the drama was over, Allison announced that the show must go on. The person with the highest percentage of weight loss at the end of the week would win a new Ford Eco Escape. The person with the lowest amount was going to be instantly eliminated. My mind automatically went to praying that Conda gained about 5lbs... but I just knew I wasn't that lucky.

There was some working out, there was some mushy stuff where the final three got to see how far they've come, and then it was the time I had been waiting for. Since the show was only an hour long this week, it didn't take long to get to the weigh in.

AnaConda went first. She lost 10lbs. I couldn't freakin' believe it. I was so worried when Kim went next. She is/was so tiny - I just couldn't see how she'd get the 7lbs she needed to beat AnaConda.

Then, she stepped on the scale and lost 15 Freakin' pounds. FIFTEEN!!! Can you believe that? I was so happy for her. I don't know how she did it - but she did. That earned her a loss of more than 9% of her body weight. Unflippinbelievable!

Last up was Jeremy. Boy, was Conda worried. One of them was going home. She'd lost 10lbs...surely Jeremy would lose more than that. He needed 12lbs to beat Conda. He lost 10lbs. DOH!! So close, yet so far away.

Conda then had a mini-meltdown and spewed out how Jeremy deserved to be there much more than she did - and then had the audacity to say that he had more right to be there over Kim. Hello. Has she even been on the same ranch with Kim? Kim has worked her behind off - literally - since she got there.

But, it wasn't over that easy. Yes, Jeremy was eliminated - but he wasn't going home. Allison announced that he'd have a chance to make it in to the final 3 (yes, apparently since the walk-out there'd no longer be a final 4 but a final 3) along with Conda and Kim, he just had to perform in one more challenge. That would be against the eliminated players.

It's funny, to me, how Jeremy was so quick to leave the show because he thought eliminated players should NOT be allowed to compete for the final 3...yet, I knew he wouldn't say that and leave. Of course he wouldn't. Now, I'm just hoping that one of the other eliminated players wins next week.

Yes, I'd have rather Jeremy gotten through to the final 3, but I just wanted Conda and him seperated. And finally that's happened.

So, that's it for this week. There's only one more show left before the finale. I'm very nervous that Conda is going to win. I'll be so upset. She doesn't deserve it. She's been a nasty bully the whole time. I guess we'll have to wait 2 more weeks to find out.

I'll be back here next week - same place, hopefully not the same time.

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown...Kind Of

Dear Diary...

Sorry my post is kinda late.  It's not my fault.  Blame Bobby Petrino.  Don't know who that is?  Well, just enter his name into Google and you'll have all the information you need.  But, to save you some time, I'll tell you that he was the head football coach at the University of Arkansas until he got fired Tuesday night because he had an affair with a much younger female employee.

Why is it his fault that I didn't get my BL Breakdown post done this morning?  Well, because I live in NW Arkansas - the home of the University of Arkansas - Bobby Freakin' Petrino has been all over our local news for the last week.  He was fired Tuesday night - right as The Biggest Loser was about to start - and our local station thought that news was much more important than airing this week's episode of BL.  Being that I went to bed super early Tuesday night - I didn't realize it until I was about to watch BL last night...and discovered it was an hour of Bobby Petrino news instead.  UGH!!

So, I got up this morning and watched BL on NBC.com.  It was the only way - and that meant having to wait until this evening to do my post.  Feel free to send letters to the University addressing them with your disgust and outrage at my having to postpone my blog post on account of their head football coach playing naughty with an employee.

Anywho - let's get to the breakdown, shall we?

This week was part 2 of Makeover week.  It was only an hour long.  The first fifteen minutes of the show was still at the White House with Michelle Obama.  She spoke to each player individually - and then she spent 20 minutes working out with them.  I thought it was really awesome.  I don't give a flying toot about the players - but I do think it's nice that our First Lady is cool enough to hang with normal people and work-out.

The rest of the episode between that and the weigh-in should have basically been called The Chris Whaa Show.  Cause it was all about Chris feeling sorry for herself, missing her husband, her husband telling her to come home, and then she "binged".  Why did I put binge in quotations, you ask?  Cause I say the whole thing was ridiculous.  It had staged written all over it.  She sat on her hotel bed with a cheeseburger, a grilled cheese, a tub of mayo, a tub of peanut butter, a chocolate bar, and a banana.  Where the heck did that all come from?  Such a fake!  The whole country got to see her eating the crap food - even putting peanut butter and mayo on the burger at one point.  It was disgusting.

Then, she had the balls to cry to Bob during the weigh in the next day.  For once, Bob finally stood up to her and wasn't having any of her whiny BS.  He told her to either suck it up or go home.  She said she was going to suck it up - but I knew after that fiasco we'd seen 3 minutes earlier...she was going home.

Finally, it was time for the weigh-in.  Buddy did really well, Jeremy did really well, Mark did OK, Conda did OK.  Kim only lost 2lbs which put her below the yellow line.  And then came Chris.  She gained 2lbs.  Show of hands who's surprised?  No?  No one?  Yeah - me either.  I knew it was coming before she even got up there.  The best moment of the whole night was Allison before Chris got on the scale.  Chris started whining about having a bad week and then binging.  Allison looked at her with a disgusted look, said "alright", and then waited for the number.  Absolutely no sympathy.  Magical!

I have to say I was very surprised during the vote off.  Kim was below the yellow line with Chris.  It would have made much more sense to send Kim home - because she's the biggest threat.  She's currently the biggest loser in the house.  Conda went first.  She stated something about Chris' head not being in the game - and voted for Chris.  Then, Buddy was next.  Chris only needed 2 votes to be sent home.  Buddy started saying how voting for Kim would make more sense, biggest threat, blah, blah - stuff I've already said - and then he voted for Chris!  Historical!  He referred to Kim as being like a little sister to him.  It almost brought tears to my eyes seeing Kim so relieved.  I said almost.  At the end of the show, we got to see Chris - and she's doing well at home.

Now, between you and me, I've got some weird feeling going on that Buddy wants his team to be in the final four - which would mean Buddy, Mark, Jeremy, and Kim.  NOT Conda.  Just a feeling - that's why it's just between you and me...so keep it on the DL, m'kay?

So, the part of the show that has gotten the most attention from the "fans" this week (yes, there I go with the quotations again) was the preview for next week's show.  We've finally gotten to the Walk Out!  It happens next week!  Four contestants will leave, two won't be allowed to come back - or so that's what everyone has said in the tabloids and online.  I'm kinda hoping it's Mark and Conda that leave... but I know that Conda won't leave without Jeremy or Jeremy won't let Conda leave.  I have a horrible feeling that it's Mark and Buddy that doesn't come back.  Man, I've never wanted to be more wrong in my life.

Lets all get together and send positive ju-ju vibes that Conda, Jeremy, Mark, and Buddy walk off - and because the producers have finally come to their senses about how horrible Conda and Mark are...they are the two that the producers don't let come back.  Sound good?  That would leave Kim, Jeremy, and Buddy - the three that I can tolerate the most.  Then, the producers can bring an eliminated player back for the final four...lets say Adrian or Daphne.  That sound good to everyone else?  NBC should totally hire me for casting - I'd never let the appalling crap that's happened this season happen.

Alright - that's it for this week.  You can bet your last dollar that I won't be going to bed early next Tuesday night.  I'll be in front of that TV - along with the rest of America that still has some interest in this season..and maybe a few that haven't had any interest this entire season.  Don't forget to keep your fingers crossed and be sending out those ju-ju vibes.  K?

Oh, and make sure you come back tomorrow.  I actually have some semi-positive news to report.  You don't want to miss it!

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown: Makeover Week Part 1

Dear Diary...

For the first week since watching the show, I believe that this week's breakdown will be the nicest one I've written so far.  It feels weird saying or thinking that.  I didn't even think it was possible that I would actually enjoy an episode from this season - but it's no surprise that Makeover Week was the one that would tame my inner witch.

Again, I'll give my usual SPOILER ALERT.  If you haven't watched this week's episode, but plan on it - then you might want to skip today's post - although I don't think I'll really be giving too much away.  Most of it will be opinion based.  If you haven't watched it and have no intention of watching it - because you joined the masses that are skipping this season and are just slightly curious about what's going on - then by all means, read on.

This week was Makeover Week - Part 1. For some reason, the show was only an hour long this week.  It figures that the one time I'm actually enjoying it, they cut it short.  Maybe NBC realized that Makeover Week might warm some hearts...and it would be best to drag it out as long as possible.  I guess they've got to do what they can, at this point.

The show started off great from the get-go.  There was a challenge that got the week underway.  The contestants had to climb a rope wall, grab a baseball, climb down, put the ball in a slingshot and try and break the glass that held a picture of them from week one.

I thought it would be a very therapeutic challenge.  I would love the opportunity to smash a picture of me when I was 100lbs heavier.  Of course, I'd have to lose that much weight first.

Anywho, the winner earned a 1lb advantage on the scale - but the loser earned a 1lb disadvantage on the scale.  Straight away, Kim was kicking butt and taking names.  She smashed her first piece of glass on the first try.  The contestants had to smash two pieces to win.  It was Buddy, however, who was able to break both pieces first.

Buddy, Mark, Kim, and Jeremy all finished the competition - and watched on as Conda and Chris were left.  Conda had a lot of problems.  I actually started yelling out loud for Chris to win.  Not because I'm a fan of hers - but it would be AMAZING to see Conda lose something.

Apparently, the TV can understand me when I speak to it - because Conda lost!  I cheered.  It may sound evil - but it's not.  It's karma.  It's about freakin' time that girl lost something.  She's lazy, mean, and vindictive.

After the challenge, Makeover Week officially began.  The contestants received the news that they'd be doing their reveal in a very special place.

First, the contestants got to meet with the chick from What Not to Wear - the show on E!  She first let them know where they'd be doing their reveal.  They were going to be going to the White House to meet Michelle Obama!  How f'in cool is that?  She, then, had each of them face and try on their old clothes.  This may sound a little mean, but I didn't see much of a difference when Conda put on her old clothes.  Maybe it was the outfit she put on - but it looked like something she could still wear.  The other contestants though?  WOW!

The most remarkable changes were from Kim and Mark.  Kim put on her old pants and they literally fell right off of her.  She couldn't keep them up.   The contestants then all tried on smaller clothes - and they looked pretty good.  Kim, again, wowed me with the dress she tried on  - that was a size 6!

Then, they were off to get hair and makeup done from Jessica Simpson's stylist.  Sorry, I'm terrible with remembering names.

One thing I really liked this week is the fact that they didn't drag the makeovers out too long.  Getting to the reveals didn't take long at all.  That's the only part I really care about anyway - seeing them all made up.

Each contestant were greeted by Bob and Dolvett once in the White House.  It was so nice to see them dressed up and a part of makeover week.  You could also tell by some of the reactions how shocked they were at the transformations.

I'm going to admit.  I teared up.  A lot.  As each contestant was revealed to their families, a lump appeared in my throat.  I just couldn't imagine going months without seeing my kids or Hubby.  But I guess, if I was away transforming myself - I'd love being able to have them see me all dressed up and looking like a completely different person.

First up was Mark.  They shaved off the thing he called a goatee - and left him clean shaven and bald.  He reminded me of Mr. Clean.  He looked good, though.

Then it was Chris.  Now, I don't want to sound hateful, because Chris looked good - I just didn't care too much for her hair style.  It was very short, choppy, and looked messy.  It's a cut that probably would have looked good on a teenager - but not a 42 year old woman.  Although, she looked YEARS younger.

Then it was Buddy.  He was also clean shaven, and looked years younger.  I'm not sure I was a fan of being clean shaven - I think the rugged beard look suited him.  In a way, his new look reminded me of Jared, the Subway guy.

Then came Kim.  Holy Moly!  She was the, by far, the most beautiful and stunning person of the night.  Bob made a comment about how she looked ready for finale - and I couldn't agree more.  She wore a tight fitted dress, her hair was gorgeous, her legs went on for days, and she just looked amazing.  I am officially no longer a Kim hater.  That girl has earned every minute on that show - and she's got the looks to prove it.

Then, at last, it was time for Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb.  That being Conda and Jeremy.  I'd admit, Conda looked good.  She got her hair cut and colored a dark blonde.  It suited her - and it did make her face look a lot thinner.  Jeremy looked good, too, but I didn't think the clothes they picked for him really showed off how much he'd lost.  He looked kinda frumpy.

All in all, the contestants all looked great.  There was no negativity this week.  No drama.  I really hope that this week gave them all some much needed inspiration to keep going forward - better than they have been.

The show ended with the contestants and their families being led in to a room to meet the First Lady herself.  And, then the show ended.  Of course.  We've got to wait until next week to see how that goes.

All in all, I enjoyed this week's episode and I'm actually looking forward to next week.  Only because I want to see them all work-out with Michelle Obama.

I've been seeing a lot of negative comments about the FL being involved with the show.  I don't know why.  Mrs. Obama has been an advocate from day one of the Presidency for fighting obesity.  It makes total sense to me why she'd be involved with a show like BL.  I also think it's great that she makes time to do something like this.  I actually read comments from people that bashed her for "wasting time" with regular people.  Urm.. hello?  I like thinking that our First Family are regular people.  Why on earth are they too good to be apart of motivating people?

Of course, a lot of the comments are politically charged.  I get that.  I get that this is an election year.  But, come on people - give the FL some credit.  She looks amazing, and I think she's amazing for getting involved.  Lay off her, m'kay?

Alright, that's it for this week.  Be sure to tune in same time, same place next week for Part 2 of Makeover Week.

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Recap - Week 13... Exercise is Boring!

Dear Diary...

If you haven't watched this week's episode of BL, then you have two choices.  A) You can stop reading right now, go find it on Hulu or wherever it is you plan on watching it and watch it yourself or B) Don't waste your time and just read what I have to say about it.

Yes, this is an official spoiler alert.  Don't wait until you get to the end of the post to complain that I gave anything away.  I'm telling you I'm going to give information out right now!!

OK, so it was week 13 on the ranch.  Those contestants have been doing this for 13 weeks - and I realize that I have officially wasted approximately 20 hours of my life on this season.  Twenty hours!  That's almost an entire day to watch a show that provides me absolutely no motivation and is nothing but whiny babies and EXCUSES!  How can they possibly call this season No Excuses?  If this is what the Biggest Loser is going to continue to be about - then they can just send a video camera to my house, pay me some money, and I'll let America watch me whine and cry and not put forth the amount of effort needed to realize that I have a once in a lifetime opportunity to change my life forever.

Anyway, back to the show.

The show started off with a challenge.  Each contestant had to load 150 boxes of Newman's salad dressing on to a truck.  Did you know that the Newman company donates all of their profits to charity?  Neither did I!  I don't use Newman's dressings because I always thought them to be a little too expensive - I may have to reconsider that, now that I know that tidbit of information.  Anywho, the boxes they had to load.  Seventy-five of the boxes weighted 20lbs and seventy-five weighed 15lbs.  The winner received 30,000+ pounds of food for their hometown food pantry, and a 1lb advantage on the scale.

Kim and Megan started out really strong.  I knew right away, though, that Mark was going to be the one that would sneak in with a victory on this one.  He decided to start with the heavy boxes first.  He knew that starting with the heavy boxes would give him an advantage to move faster at the end.  He was right.  Kim was about 10 boxes in front for most of the competition - but once she got to the heavier boxes, she started to slow down.  It was Mark who took the victory.

Allison told the contestants that if the rest of them completed their challenge, Newman's would donate a truck load of groceries to each of their home towns.  So, for probably the first time this entire season - they all helped each other out to load the remaining trucks.

Mark then went on and on about how much the win meant to him because he just loves to help out charities and contribute to causes - blah, blah, blah.  Yeah, he likes to help out - when there's something in it for him.  You'll see why I make that very snide remark towards the end.

The rest of the show was focused on the excuse Exercise is Boring.  Dolvett took Jeremy, Mark, Buddy, and Kim to a Zumba dance class.  It was actually quite entertaining to watch them dance.  Not a single one of them have any rhythm whatsoever, but they had fun with it.  Bob took Chris, Megan, and Conda on a bike ride.  Not as fun as Zumba, apparently, because Conda whined and complained the whole time - shocker, right?

The next challenge was a cooking challenge.  The contestants had seven minutes in a grocery store to pick their ingredients and then 20 minutes to cook a healthy meal for three judges.  The winner would pick up $1000 for every pound they lost this week on the scale.  The three judges were contestants from last season.

Jeremy sucked big time.  He made some silly concoction of bread with a jelly and sour cream spread, cooked bananas and apples.  Megan made a really nice looking tilapia salad - but it had a lot of sodium in it.  Buddy made a chicken salad - but goofed by using full fat mayo.  Mark made a grilled chicken salad - but goofed by adding too much feta cheese.  Conda made a cabbage soup - she was sure she would win, and I have to admit it looked pretty good, and was low in calories.  Kim made a stuffed mushroom with cheese and lean steak.  Chris made a broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breast - that was still raw when she was finished.  Of course, she whined and cried that she didn't have enough time, and there wasn't enough room in the kitchen to prepare, etc.

I loved this challenge once it was time to reveal the results.  I almost danced around my living room.  There was Conda with a big smile on her face - just sure she had it in the bag.  And then?  Kim won!  I was ecstatic.  The first bit of real justice that's happened all freakin' season!

Vinny, one of the judges, then proceeded to call Chris out on the fact that she seemed to use a lot of excuses for her meal.  It was classic.  Chris, of course, was pissed!  She disappeared to the gym to pout.  Vinny tried to talk to her, and explain that he was just voicing his observations - but she was so pissed, it didn't really seem to sink in very much.

There was a lot of focus on Bob helping Megan, this week.  He made her do a video diary, to help keep her accountable.  He had her doing all kinds of crazy stuff in the last chance work-out, too.  This much attention has become a sure sign of someone's fate.

So, let's get to the weigh-in.  This week, I didn't write down all of the results.  I do know that Kim lost 7lbs, earning her $7000 from the cooking challenge.  I was so happy for her.  I can't believe that woman is still pulling such crazy numbers - especially now that she's so small.  Wanna know how much Mark lost?  Nothing!  Nada!! Zip!  He didn't lose a single pound - and with his 1lb advantage, it was a straight shot to below the yellow line.

The others did pretty well.  Buddy looked to be the one going down with Mark, until Megan stepped on the scale.  She needed to lose 5lbs to be safe.  So, what did she lose? 4lbs.  Just one pound shy of sending either Mark or Buddy home.

Now, here comes the part where I slam in to Mark's false persona of wanting to help people - and be charitable - and all that bull crap.  Because that's what it is.  Mark is down to 200lbs.  He has hardly any weight left to lose.  He also lost ZERO pounds this week.  Megan, who finally had a breakthrough this week, lost 4lbs and worked her behind off all week.  Do you think Mark would be charitable, and see how much Megan still needs to be there - and he doesn't?  Of course not!  That's how much Mark cares about helping others.  He doesn't - unless there's something in it for him!

Everyone else voted for Megan because they said Mark had worked harder the rest of the season.  Ergo, meaning Megan needed to be there more - and Mark had basically done everything he needed to do.  Those players are enough to make anyone crazy.  Why don't they just come out and say "Mark has less to lose, Megan's the bigger threat, that's why we're sending her home"?  I was so pissed at Chris, because even she voted for Megan - and Megan's been on her team since day one.  She is such a backstabber.  I really hope she's the next one to go - if Conda doesn't.

I just know that any other season - the player in Mark's position would have told the group to send him home, because the other person needed it more.  That was back when TBL was about caring for one another, supporting one another, and knowing why each and every one of them were there.  That was back when I really enjoyed watching the show, and was rooting for every person - because they all worked so hard.

This season, every single person is out for themselves - and only themselves.  You can see it in everything.  Even the trainers realize that they have to make everything in to a competition.  Not a single one of them can stand it if someone else wins or loses more.  They also won't stand for helping each other.

At least I can say that TBL taught me something this week.  The excuse for the week was how exercise was boring - but I learned that I'd much rather be working out than watching this season.  Rather than wasting those precious hours watching this pathetic excuse for a weight loss show - I could be using those hours to boost my pathetic weight loss show.  It's a very close competition as to which one is worse - all of them who have Bob, Dolvett, and the ranch...or me who has really bad allergies, works all day, has three kids to take care of, hardly any motivation to work out, and has finally started learning the importance of healthy eating.  At least there's a plus on my side.

Well, that's it for this week.  Next week is Makeover Week - Part 1.  It's being broken up in to two parts, I heard.  The makeover shows have always made me cry.  Let's see how many tears I'm shedding this time around.  I have a feeling I'll be crying - because I'll want it to be over, and I'm sick and tired of seeing these undeserving people get anything.

OK, I'm done.

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown

Dear Diary...

I have to make it pretty quick today, because I'm taking the girls to the zoo.  I must be crazy because there's a pretty good chance it's going to rain on us.  But, it's rained all freakin' week long - so we're going to chance it.  The sun is shining here at the moment, and we're taking in the glorious site and going to drive 2 hours to get to the zoo.

But, that's not what today is about, is it now?  Nope.  Thursdays are for my Biggest Loser breakdown.  The day I slam explain the goings on of this week's episode.

This week the contestants faced the excuse:  I can't lose weight on vacation.  And were swept off to Hawaii.  I don't know about you, but I've never used that excuse in my entire life.  Who in the heck thinks about losing weight when they go on vacation?  Not me.

I have to admit, but I got kinda bored with the first half of the episode.  The contestants went surfing with Bethany Hamilton - the real soul surfer.  I really thought that spending some time with her would whip some of the contestants in to shape with their whining - but it didn't.  There was still plenty of whining for everyone to hear once the surfing was finished.

Kim was feeling pretty sorry for herself.  She feels alone in the house now that Emily and Cassandra is gone.  I'm surprised, because up until a few weeks ago - I didn't see her with Emily or Cassandra much... but apparently she was really close to them.  So, while the other women were sitting around eating and being catty about how much they don't like Kim - she was at the hotel gym working out.  And I say, good for her!

The challenge this week I hated.  The contestants had to run up and down a steep hill collecting leis.  They then put them on other contestants statues to eliminate them from the challenge.  The person still standing at the end won immunity.

Immediately Kimmie, Megan, and Chris went after Kim.  Conda, Jeremy, and Mark started going after Chris.  And poor Kim was just trying to get as many leis as she could to stay alive.  Kimmie ended up finding a "death lei" that took a contestant out immediately.  She placed it on Kim's statue.  Kim was out of the game.

Then, Conda, Mark, and Jeremy slowly took out Megan, Kimmie, and Chris one by one.  Mark is an idiot.  He should have thought about taking out one of them in the beginning.  He knew damn well that those two were going to gang up on him to take him out.  Not only that, but Jeremy and Conda actually let Mark do most of the dirty work before they took him out.  Mark actually made a comment at one point along the lines of "America is right about you two".  Which makes me thing Conda has been receiving some of the..urm..feedback that viewers have been leaving for her.  Jeremy, once again, decided to let his sister win - because she can't do anything for her freakin' self - and Conda won immunity.  I was so ticked off.  But Allison warned her that if she gained weight - the immunity would be gone.

Mark then went and had a private chat with Kim and told her that he had no intention of voting Kim off - even though she thought she had a big target on her back.  He actually had the cheek to say that he wanted to be surrounded by competitive players in the finale.  What a load of crap!

Finally, it was weigh in time.  Gonna make it quick.  Here are the numbers and percentages...

Conda - lost 4lbs 1.81%
Chris - lost 3lbs but earned a 1lb advantage in a game - 2.24%
Buddy - lost 6lbs - 2.14%
Jeremy - lost 7lbs - 2.57%
Kimmie - lost 2lbs - 1.23%
Megan - lost 3lbs - 1.52%
Mark - lost 4lbs - 1.96%

Kim was the last to weigh in.  There was Kimmie and Megan at the bottom.  Kimmie was definitely under the yellow line - and it was up to Kim to either prevail or be under the yellow line with her.  Kim stepped on the scale...

Kim - 5lbs - 2.84%!!!

She lost the most weight out of anyone - and put Megan and Kimmie (mother and daughter) under the line together.

Megan and Kimmie both gave a little speech, and of course, Kimmie threw herself under the blade.  She asked that everyone respect her and send her home.  Kim came out with some food for thought about how being the last two vote offs have been about "the game" it would make more sense to send Megan home.  Of course, nobody did that - and Kimmie was sent home.

I didn't like this episode.  But, it did make me like Kim even more.  As much as I am not a fan of a single person left in that house - I'm pulling for Kim, now.  She fights hard.  And she doesn't let anyone else carry her through - like Conda.

Next week, I believe the contestants win money for the amount of weight they lose - so of course, Conda will be all hard work for that one.  She's definitely not there to just lose weight - it's apparent that something has to be in it for her to win.  I just hope with all my might that the rest of the contestants see how much power Conda and Jeremy have - and break up that team FAST!!

OK - gotta run so I can get to the zoo before it starts pouring rain.

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown - Week 11

Dear Diary...

Tuesday night, if the comments on Facebook and Twitter are correct, I was one of the half dozen people left in the country that's still watching The Biggest Loser.  Seriously.  If you're on the internet on Tuesday evenings between the hours of 7-9pm CST, go to Twitter and search the hashtag #BL13.  You'll be amazed at the thousands of Twitter posts that appear bashing the show.  Then, hop on over to Facebook and check out the Official Biggest Loser page.  There you'll find thousands of more comments bashing the show.  And I'm still in the mindset that they are legitimate.  The show this season is TERRIBLE!!  However, I need content for my blog on Thursdays - so I endure the two hours of torture that is this season's show so that I can share with you how terrible it is play by play.  Yes, folks, that's how much I care about you.

This week, the teams finally went to singles.  At first I was relieved.  It was about time they all got separated.  Then I got hit with a realization.  There's still a team left.  That would be the green team - Jeremy and Conda.  UGH!!  And for some reason, that I still haven't figured out - because my mind just can't fathom how people can like that woman at all - those two are ruling the roost that is the BL ranch.

The yellow line was brought back this week, and the singles got to keep the trainers they've been with this whole time.

Kim and Emily were both aware from the get go that they had major targets on their backs.  Emily because she was Cassandra's BFF, and Kim because she called out the rest of her team last week for being weak by voting off Cassandra.  It has always been my thing to root for the underdogs in this show.  Each season, there's usually some form of alliances that build up.  That's no new thing this season.  And, when that happens, I always root for the ones that are the weaker alliance.  This season, that would mean going for Kim and Emily.  Emily would be fine - but Kim I was feeling icky about.

The challenge this week was absolutely pathetic.  Each player was tied to a circle ring in the middle of an ice skating rink.  They had to each pull themselves to a button that was several feet in front of them - which meant pulling the entire team's weight with them.  It was probably one of the hardest challenges I've seen on the show.  The bonus with this challenge was that each player would get to pick a prize from 9 boxes.  The person that came in last would pick first, and then there would be a Dirty Santa type thing where each person that placed a position higher could keep their box or steal someone else's prize.  Buddy had some kind of fracture, so he wasn't allowed to compete - putting him in 9th place automatically.

Well, it just so happens that Conda and Jeremy got placed right next to each other.  How f'in convenient.  I could see what was coming before the challenge even started.  After a few minutes of all of them standing in the middle of the ring going nowhere, Conda got the bright idea to help Jeremy to his buzzer.  The two biggest players in the house, on the same team, placed right next to each other?  It was a no brainer they were going to cheat so that they could get the best prize.

Boy, did that piss of Kim.  She's so competitive, and to see them cheat like that really did NOT make her happy.  Then Mark helped Megan.  Then, Chris helped Mark.  Which pissed Kim off even more.  Poor Kim and Emily were on opposite sides of the ring, and just couldn't catch a break.  Everyone made it so obvious that they were going to do what they could for each other - except Kim and Emily. So sad.  The challenge ended with Emily coming in last.

The prize selection worked out kinda weird.  Buddy picked a hat.  Emily picked a phone for a day.  Kimmie picked an autographed photo of Allison Sweeney, Kim picked a big box of chocolates, Chris picked a 1lb advantage that was then taken and swapped with Conda's $1 bill.  So, Conda had the 1lb advantage.  Megan picked a goldfish that she then swapped for the 1lb advantage.  Mark picked a box that had two votes for the elimination.  Lastly, Jeremy picked a shopping spree with a celebrity - that he freakin' swapped with Conda's goldfish - so that Conda could pick someone to have the shopping spree with.  The only prize I was concerned about was Mark's two votes at elimination.  That bothered me, big time.

Conda decided to take Kim on the shopping spree - because they are both single moms.  Yada yada.  Kim was happy to go, but I got the feeling she'd rather go with someone other than Conda.  The celebrity was Jessica Simpson - and both contestants could pick anything they wanted from her store to keep.  For free.  Well, I'll say - going against all the bashing I saw on Twitter Tuesday night - Kim looked really good in the clothes.  It was so obvious how much she'd slimmed down.  Conda on the other hand?  Eh.  Not so much.  It amazes me how different all the women look - but the biggest girl in the house has only lost 60lbs.  Kim, who was much smaller to begin with, has lost 70lbs - and I would call her slim now.  Conda looked frumpy and awkward in the tighter clothes and high heels.  Yeah, I may be being a little judgmental cause I can't stand that witch - but she wouldn't have looked good even if I did like her.  There, I said it.

The show was only 1 1/2 hours this week, so after all that it was time to get to the weigh in.  I was happy the yellow line was back.  I think it's the fairest way to judge weight loss.  I'm so sick of the high losers going home and the low losers staying.  Conda should have gone a long time ago - but I have a feeling she's freakin' in it for the duration.  As long as her and Jeremy are together - nothing is happening to either of them.

Kimmie went first and lost 4lbs.  Then it was Buddy, who lost 8lbs.  Kim lost 6, Conda lost 7, Jeremy lost 9, Chris lost 7, Mark lost 9, Megan lost 6.  It amazes me how big the weight loss was this week - now that the yellow line was back.  Amazing, isn't it?  The last one to weigh was Emily.  she was told she had to get more than 5lbs to be safe.  She knew if she didn't, she was going home.  It was between her and Kimmie - and she knew they wouldn't send Kimmie home.  Emily pulled a 5.  Just one pound shy of being safe.

In the elimination room, Kim voted for Kimmie.  Then everyone else started voting for Emily.  Even Chris - who was on Emily's team the whole time - voted for Emily.  That woman seems desperate to please everyone else to keep the target off her back, apparently.  Then, it came to Conda.  She voted for Kimmie which seemed to shock everyone on Twitter.  Not me, though.  I knew what was going on.  She could vote for Kimmie - making it look like she cared for Emily - when she knew damn well that everyone else would vote Emily off.  Mark got his two votes and they both went to Emily... cause he's a jerk...and that was that.  Emily was sent packing.

As much as I really hate to admit this, I'm kinda starting to like Kim.  I like the fact that she's so competitive.  She can't stand the game play that's going on with Jeremy and Conda.  And now she's all by herself - cause everyone else is wrapped around Conda and Mark's fingers.  How sad is it that the person I'm now left rooting for is the person I haven't been able to stomach since day 1?  I'll admit it.  I disliked Kim just as much as I disliked Conda - but Kim has lost a lot of weight, and she's done it by working hard.  Other than the one show where the contestants went home, there hasn't been too much whining from Kim.  Sure, she misses her kids - and says that a lot - but she doesn't use it as an excuse, she uses it as a motivation.  I have to give her some credit for that.

So, it was another pathetic week at the ranch. Rumor has it that next week the contestants are all going to Hawaii.  Whoopy doo.  Don't really care a bit.  I'll watch - cause I know Jenn would be very disappointed if I didn't do the recap next Thursday.  So, again, I'll endure the torture.  I just can't wait for this season to be over - I just don't know how much more I can stand.

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown - Week 10

Dear Diary...

This week's Biggest Loser was a doozy.  Was the drama gone?  No.  Conda's still there - that will answer that question quickly.  However, there were a lot of surprises - both on the screen and how I felt towards some of the contestants.

So, the show kicked off with the teams having to switch trainers for the week for the excuse of getting them out of their comfort zones.  The red team got Bob, the black team got Dolvett.  By the reaction from the black team, you would have thought they asked Conda's family to be the trainers for the week.  Too harsh?  Hmm...oh well.  The black team cried.  They whined.  They cried some more.  I'm no Dolvett expert, but I will say that man is a fine piece of athletic machinery to the eyes.  Every piece of him looks like it's been perfectly chiseled by the gods.  Why anyone would cry about getting him as a trainer is ridiculous.  But the black team boo-hoo'd all the way to the gym.

I felt so bad for poor Dolvett.  The black team didn't even try and hide their disappointment.  He could tell straight away that they weren't happy about the switch. You didn't see the red team whining and complaining when Bob was giving them pure hell.  As much as I don't like the red team - I give them kudos for accepting the change, and going with it.

The negative, whiny attitude for the black team made me rethink how much I like them.  Not that I really cared that much for any of them - but I preferred the black team to the bulldozers that are the red team.  After nothing but tears and "I want Bob whhaaaa" for 5 minutes - I was ready to call it quits for the week - but I stuck with it.  Cause how would I do this breakdown if I didn't?

The twist for the week was that the winning team from the weigh-in would be the ones to vote off the player from the losing team.  The challenge was each team having to swim through a mud pit to find 40 weights - relay style.  It looked hard, and a lot of fun.  The entire red team did what they had to do - without complaining.  The black team?  Yeah, not so much.  Emily was the crybaby for this challenge.  She didn't like getting dirty.  Boo freakin' hoo!

Again, as much as I don't care for the red team, I was kinda glad they won the challenge - and earned themselves a 2lb advantage at the weigh-in.

That's when all the drama started.  Apparently, Kim, Emily, and Cassandra had approached Conda about making an alliance that would create a 4 woman final four.  That wasn't shown on the show - we had to rely on Conda's word for that.  Which the jury is out on.  I mean, really, can we trust what Conda says?  Conda immediately went running to the men on the red team - where she supposedly already has an alliance.  Buddy, Mark, and Jeremy all have Conda's back - and have agreed not to vote her off.  That news was terrible.  How can they agree to such a terrible thing as to keep that nasty, vile woman on the show?  It's beyond me.  And then they all pledged to pick off Cassandra, Emily and Kim one by one.

Then came the pathetic weigh-in.  The red team was up first.  Each person was pulling crappy numbers.  After the entire team - 5 remaining players - had weighed in, they'd lost a total of 22lbs.  That's a 1.91% weight loss for the team.  So much for a change to the work-out being a great way to burn more weight, right?

Then, up goes the whine bags.  The black team.  Cassandra started with a 3lbs loss.  Then, Emily had a 4lbs loss.  Chris and Megan only lost 1lb and Conda only lost 2 or 3lbs.  I can't remember.  I try to block her out of my mind.  Whatever it was - it was pathetic.  What ticked me off the most was Chris standing on that scale and blaming the change in trainers to be the reason she only lost 1lb.  Urm, hello!! This whole season is supposed to be about NO EXCUSES - and it seems that week after week, all that woman has is excuses.  So, inevitably, the black team lost.

Before the voting started, the black team all got to make their pleas.  Emily had scored the highest percentage of weight loss - and was safe.  She and Kim spoke on Cassandra's behalf and begged the red team not to vote her off.  Kim made a great speech (yes, I'm saying Kim did something good) about not voting off the threats in the house - but keeping the strong players, so that there is some good competition.

All of the pleas fell on deaf ears, though.  Kim voted for Chris, and so did Jeremy.  Which, I will say, was commendable.  Even though he's a part of the "alliance" to get rid of the women (except Conda) he went with his gut and voted for the weakest black member - Chris.  Mark, Buddy, and Kimmie did not.  They voted for Cassandra - which got her sent home.

Right at the end, Kim made an applaudable speech (I know, I'm doing it again - admitting that Kim did something nice) and called out her team members for voting off the strong player because they were scared of competition.

From this week, it appears that Conda and Kim are not as close as we have all been led to believe.  While I won't go as far as to say that this week made me change my opinion of Kim - I will say that it's starting to move my feelings for her in a different direction.  I don't dislike her as much.  I very much dislike Conda - always will.  There's not a thing that woman could do that would make me change my mind on that.  You can throw Mark on that bus, too.  The man weighs 215lbs - how much more weight does he need to lose?  Yet, he's the first to send someone home because they are "stronger" and don't need as much help on the ranch anymore.  Give me a freakin' break.  I like Buddy, but he's making it so hard for me when he is so friendly with Mark.  And Jeremy?  Well, I can't even believe that man is cut from the same cloth as Conda.  Despite his alliance with Mark and Buddy - he still did the right thing this week.  And has done pretty much every week.  I can't help it - I like him.  It's horrible for me to say this - but I don't want Jeremy to win just because he's Conda's brother.  If he wasn't related to that witch - he'd be the one I'm rooting for.

Now, with all the alliance drama that is unfolding, I think it'd be so funny if they all end up knocking each other out - and the final three comes down to Megan, Chris, and Kimmie.  I don't like Chris' terrible whiny attitude - but Megan and Kimmie seem to do what they need to do.  My hopes for the people that go home soon?  Mark and Conda.   I truly believe if those two were gone - the house would be different.  And you'll notice I didn't include Kim in that.  She's already changing now that she's free from the toxin that is Conda.

Next week, the teams break up - and they move to singles.  I'm excited to see how that unfolds.  Now that there are no teams to pull the numbers for them - the yellow line should be returning.  With the numbers that Conda has been pulling, I can only hope that the yellow line helps us all out by getting rid of her.

Has anyone noticed how different they all look - except Conda?  Something to think about.

OK, enough from me today.

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown: Less Conda, Anyone?

Dear Diary...

There's something weird going on over at that NBC.  I can feel it.  My spidey sense got all tingly while watching this week's episode.  I admit, I wasn't going to watch it this week.  After last week, I'd really just had enough.  I wasn't excited about the show.  I was no longer rooting for any of the contestants left.  I just didn't see the point.  But, there was nothing else on Tuesday night (except American Idol, but I was DVRing that so I could skip the commercials) so I figured what the heck, I'd see what happens when they all go home for 18 days.

Well, I'm happy to say that I'm glad I watched this week.  Mainly because it's the first episode of the season where the show portrayed what it's actually all about - getting over excuses to succeed in losing weight - AND there was WAY less Conda...but I'll discuss that more after my breakdown.

So, the contestants all got to go home for 18 days.  There was a big challenge they had to complete while there - lose 5% of their weight and they'd automatically win immunity.  All of them.  Didn't matter what team lost the weigh in, if they lost 5% they were safe.

Within about 5 minutes of them all greeting their families, they all had another challenge.  The contestants had to row 10,000 meters on a rowing machine for the chance to win $10,000.  During the challenge, I was stuck at who I was rooting for.  It's so sad to think that I couldn't pick out a favorite.  I was also very surprised to see how difficult the challenge was for some of the contestants.  I mean, after 9 weeks on the ranch in the past, the contestants have all been much more physically fit.  That's totally my opinion, I may be wrong.

Anywho, about half way in a lot of the contestants seemed to be losing steam.  Conda stuck out to me straight away.  She complained about the pain she was feeling, and declared that she'd rather just pull back and let her brother try and win.  Yeah, that was it.  Just two minutes after saying she'd planned on embarrassing him in front of all of his friends.  Once she realizes that she's not going to be able to beat him - she immediately starts trying to look like she's doing him a favor.  Psh!

I also didn't like the competition between Chism and Mark.  You could tell by the look on Mark's face that he did not want Chism to beat him.  He kept saying it, too.  Don't get me wrong, I'm all about some healthy competition between father and son - but that was a bit ridic.

Once the competition was over, the results were not revealed.  They had to wait until the weigh-in to find out who won.  So, then it went on with watching the contestants at home.  It was mostly focused on their temptations.  We saw Emily visit a bakery.  We saw Jeremy go to a bar with a bunch of his hot friends that sat around and ate fried food and steak right in front of him.  We saw Cassandra bake cookies - and only eat one.  We saw Buddy actually buy a chili cheese dog with cheese fries just to sit and smell them and throw them in the garbage.  We got to hear some heart felt moments.  What we didn't see?  Hardly any Conda.  The only time she was shown was a few fleeting moments when she was with her daughter.  No temptations for her.  No heart pulling family moments.

Once they got back to the ranch, I started to get that queasy I just can't take one more second feeling.  And the reason?  Kim.  Oh.  Em.  Gee.  Can that woman spew out some excuses.  It was nothing but whining and crying about how difficult it was for her to focus while at home because she's a mother - and her kids come first.  She knew that she wasn't getting immunity, so she immediately started playing victim.  It's totally OK for her to do it, apparently, but no one else on her team can.

So, the weigh in finally comes.  They announce that Chism won the rowing competition and wins the $10,000.  The red team weigh in first and Buddy, Kimmie, and Jeremy all make the 5% target and earn immunity.  Then it's Mark's turn to weigh in.  He didn't make it.  He only lost 11lbs in 18 days.  But of course, he's got excuses.  Oh, how quickly he forgets what he did to Adrian when Adrian had a crappy number his first week.  Or a not crappy number his second week.  Again - it's OK for Mark, just not anybody else apparently.  Then, up goes Kim.  She loses 7lbs.  In 18 days.  And I'll be damned, Dolvett actually defends her and talks about how hard Kim had it.  Being a single mother, taking care of her kids, blah, blah, freakin' blah.  I was so disappointed in Dolvett.  He basically allowed her to use her excuses.  Isn't this what the show is about?  I'm going to go out on a limb here, but if Bob was her trainer - I'm pretty sure he would have said something along the lines of "boo-hoo, lots of people have kids or are single parents but this journey is about learning to deal with you first and that making yourself healthier is the best move for your kids so you need to stop the whining and complaining and actually learning how to get over those excuses - which is what this whole season is about!"  So, Mark and Kim are up for elimination if the black team wins the weigh-in.

All of the black team go up.  Every one that goes up earns immunity - even Conda, which I was surprised about - until they get to Chism.  There's just 12lbs standing between the black team winning and sending either Kim or Mark home.  Chism could have or should have lost 12lbs in one week - let alone 18 days.  If he doesn't make it, he automatically gets eliminated.  So, he stands on the scale.  America is already rejoicing the fact that either Mark or Kim will be leaving.  It's a win-win situation - as they are both evil.  And then Chism only loses 11lbs.  What the what??  It's like I could almost hear the curse words being screamed by America.

Chism went home.  After a very dramatic outburst by his dad.  But, he was the person sent packing.  There was no after show update on Chism.  No, now he gets his own vlog on the Biggest Loser website to update his progress each week.

I'll admit that I'd have much rather seen Kim or Mark go home.  I truly believe Chism needed to be there longer.  However, I also believe what goes around comes around.  After what the black team did to Daphne - there needed to be some justice.  And justice was given.

In regards to my "spidey sense" I talked about at the beginning of this post.  Somehow, I feel like there might have been some additional editing done to this week's episode.  It was blatantly obvious how much of Conda we didn't see.  I almost got the chance to forget about her.  I said almost.  I am hoping that it's because NBC has heard the cries of the masses and are doing everything in their power to decrease the amount of Conda drama.  I sure hope that's what it is.  I still won't be happy until she's gone - but whatever.  Less Conda time will suffice, for now.  Then, of course, it could have just been that TBL wanted this week to be heartfelt and emotional - and there just wasn't any Conda footage that would demonstrate that.

I've heard a lot of banter in the forums about Conda being "made" to look the bully due to editing.  I say what the hell eva!  There's no way the cameras can make crap like that happen. She's a bully.  The country should see her for what she is.  So, if you're one of those people that feels sorry for Conda for being portrayed in such a negative way - get a grip!  The best movie directors in the world couldn't pull that one off - they are just showing her for what she is.  And I'm totally down for them hardly ever showing her - if it means making the BL fans a little more appeased.

That's the breakdown for this week.  There's a major twist gonna take place next week.  Oh joy.  Guess we'll just have to wait and see what unfolds from that.

Goals for today:
  • Log all of my food
  • Drink lots of water
  • Circuit training at the gym

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown...Tear Down?...Put Down? Something Like That

Dear Diary...

Thursdays have kinda become the day when I get on here and do a bitchfest rundown of the week's episode of Biggest Loser.  I like doing it on Thursdays, because there are some people that don't get to watch it on the actual night that it comes on....so I give those people an extra day to check it out.  Although, this season, it seems the amount of people watching the show at all - if the comments are right on Facebook and Twitter - are getting lower and lower.

It's no surprise that this season has probably the worst contestants in the history of the show.  It's not fair for me to make that call, because I haven't watched since the first season.  But, from what I'm hearing - there has never been anything like it.  This season has caused an uproar in the weight loss community - and there's good reason.

I have more to say about that subject, so I'm going to do a quick breakdown of this week's episode...SPOILER ALERT!!

This week, there was a temptation challenge.  The person who ate the most got power of creating whatever teams that person wanted.  They could make as many changes as they wanted - or keep things exactly the same.  Daphne won by eating 1800+ calories.  The temptation was supposed to be anonymous..but that didn't last long.  Daphne made a stupid choice and only made one switch.  Switching Conda and Jeremy.  Putting AnaConda on the black team and Jeremy on the red team.  Of course, it sent shockwaves through
the house, because they are all a bunch of cry babies.  I knew what she was doing.  She wanted to prove a point.  To show them what it was like for her and her brother to be placed on an unknown team.  Did anyone else get it?  Of course not!  They were too busy worrying how they were going to get rid of Daphne and praising the almighty AnaConda.  That's become her new nickname, by the way.  It was a stupid choice that sealed her fate - but I totally got why she did it.

Long story short, the black team ended up throwing the weigh in by losing stupid amounts of weight.  There was actual footage shown of them all eating bread and crap so that their numbers were bad.  Conda managed to actually gain a pound.  It was with the intent to get rid of Daphne.  Now, the twist came when Daphne stood on the scale.  Everyone at home was hoping she'd be the biggest loser for the week and earn immunity.  She stood on the scale and ended up gaining 2lbs!!  Everyone was shocked.  So, of course, Daphne was sent packing.

Now, in my mind, I knew exactly why she did that too.  She was so tired of the drama, she'd rather go back home - where she had the most success - than be around a bunch of whine bag, self centered monsters that are still on the show.  And I say GOOD FOR HER!!

It was reported by TMZ, yesterday, that the remaining contestants staged a walk-off when they found out the producers may bring back some of the eliminated players for a chance to win the prize money.  The contestants weren't having none of that - and actually threatened to quit.  I say, along with thousands of others, LET THEM QUIT!!  I'd much rather have the eliminated players back for the rest of the season and see every one of the players left sent packing.

Bob also did an interview with Radar online calling the remaining contestants "bullies".  He admitted that he didn't like most of the contestants on the season's show.  He called them "nasty".  He's also apparently sick of the negativity and game play that's spewing from the season.

I'm so frustrated with the show, it's not even funny.  I found myself "liking" many negative pages this week like the I Dislike Conda page, I Dislike Kim page and I Dislike Biggest Loser 13.  Looking back at what I did shocks me.  I've never jumped on a bandwagon that promotes hate towards a person.... but I just couldn't help it.

I think my biggest frustration stems from the fact that NBC refuses to acknowledge any of the negative feedback it's receiving.  Each week, I've read THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of Tweets, Facebook statuses, and blogs that all slam this season - and mostly Conda - yet there hasn't been a word from the show, the producers, or NBC.  They even refused to comment to TMZ about the walk-off.  Which, I totally think is a scheme to try and boost ratings.

Think about it for a second.  They read all the negative comments about how upset everyone is over the aqua team getting sent home.  Then they realize that maybe they could add a twist that brings them back once again.  Maybe even knowing how the other contestants would react.  It perks the interest of those people who are ticked off...and those people start watching again.  Total reality TV game play.

I can honestly say that I really have no desire to watch any more of this season.  Well, unless Conda gets sent home.  That might change the atmosphere in the house, and cause the show to make a few adjustments... but I'm not holding my breath.  I was able to see, this week, that there are people on the black team that are just as bad as some of the bullies on the red team - and that includes the people I liked, such as Emily and Cassandra.  I even kinda liked the red team this week, once Conda was off the team.  It just goes to show how much venom that one woman spreads around the house.

I really hope that NBC has been reading the comments.  I hope that despite their silence, they are planning on never letting something like this happen again.  Of course, it's hard to determine what people are going to be like once they are actually on the show... but they've done right for the past seasons I've watched.

The Biggest Loser is supposed to be a show about hope, inspiration, and determination.  It's supposed to spread the message that people can overcome pretty much anything to lose weight and get in shape.  It's not supposed to be about bickering, fighting, game play, and causing the weight loss community to protest and quit watching.  I just hope that the comments are not falling on deaf ears.  One can only hope, being that there is nothing else to go on.

Till next time. ;)

True Confessions Tuesday

Dear Diary...

First off, I want to say thank you for the support I received yesterday.  You have no idea how empowering it is to come here and read such great words of encouragement.  It's so nice to know that even when I'm feeling down and disappointed in myself - you guys can leave a few words that boost me back to feeling so much better.

Today is Tuesday, which means it's confession day.  I have spent the past couple of days confessing the stuff that happened this past weekend, but there's always more than I can divulge.  So, here goes...

I confess that I went to the gym last night and completed a mini goal by doing the 30 minute circuit training followed by the ab training.

I confess that yesterday I completed a mini goal and drank lots of water.

I confess that yesterday I completed the last mini goals and ate my breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner.  And kept the portions somewhat smaller than usual.

I confess that it feels really good knowing that I was able to complete the goals I made for myself, and look forward to doing that again today.

I confess that I'm very nervous about my Biggest Loser weigh in this morning.  I have a feeling it's going to be my biggest gain thus far.

I confess that the reason I have a feeling my Biggest Loser weigh in this morning will be the biggest gain thus far is because I stood on the scale this morning...and it wasn't pretty.  My mind just can't fathom the amount of weight gain it's showing.  Even though I know I ate like crap this past weekend, I'm pretty sure I didn't eat 10,500 calories over what I would burn....which would be the amount of calories to explain this morning's weight.

I confess that I feel a little better after just reading an article that says the morning right after a work-out, it's quite common to see a gain of up to 3lbs due to the body storing water from the shock to the system.  I feel better, but it's still going to suck donkey balls when I have to pay $3 for the gain, and to buy this week's BL a gift because they did what they were supposed to...and lost weight.

I confess that I am totally in love with my new training shoes.  While working out last night, all I wanted to do was move... because my shoes were so comfy and bouncy.  When I stopped to get gas on my way home, I jogged in place at the gas pump just because my feet didn't want to stand still on the cushions that are my shoes.  LOVE THEM!

I confess that I'm looking forward to my cardio work-out tonight.  Mainly because I'll have a friend there with me.  Also, because I can't wait to use my shoes again and see if they are just as good when I'm using equipment like the elliptical or treadmill.

I confess that I'm not looking forward to watching The Biggest Loser tonight.  I think it's going to be the last episode I'll watch this season - and that makes me sad.  BL has been a part of my life for a long time, now, and it frustrates me knowing that the producers are turning the show I used to look to for inspiration into another drama filled reality TV show.

I confess that I just realized that after my work-out tonight, I will have 3 work-outs for this past week...which will earn me a $5 bonus when I weigh in tomorrow.  And I'm not going to about the fact that I'll probably have to pay every penny of it back due to weight gain.

I confess that I'm thinking of upping the amount I earn for working out three times a week.  I mean, getting $2 for losing a pound and only $5 for working out three times a week seems a little harsh.  Maybe I should change it to where I earn $5 a week for at least 3 work-outs and give myself a $10 bonus if I work out 5 times.  Hmmm, will definitely have to consider it.

I confess that I'm glad this week's confessions aren't all bad.  In fact, they're mostly good.  That always makes me feel better... when I'm not just sitting here laying out pitiful stuff.  There's a lot of room for improvement, though.

And that's it for this week!

Before I go, I want to list today's mini goals:
  • Drink at least 60ozs of water today
  • Complete 30 minutes on the elliptical at the gym tonight
  • Eat my 3 meals and a snack
  • Keep my portion sizes small
That's it.  Think I can do it?  Yeah, I think I can.

This past week has been pretty crazy.  My emotions have been the equivalent to an extreme rollercoaster.  I'm staying positive that if I can take one day at a time, this week, and really pay attention to what I'm eating and how I'm working out - I'll have a much better outlook on my success.

Well, better get my lousy weigh in over with this morning.

Till next time. ;)

Biggest Loser Breakdown...and News!

Dear Diary...

Last night, I got back on an elliptical for the first time in almost a year.  I forgot how much I'd fallen in love with that piece of equipment.  I'd forgotten how much it makes me work, push myself.  I'd forgotten how it makes me feel like I'm running - and running hard.  I'd forgotten, but now I remember.  And I won't let myself forget so easily again.  I was strapped for time last night, so I wanted to get to the gym and do what I could in the 30 minutes I had.  I went straight to the elliptical.  I set my target heart rate to 140 - and I was off.  The machine kept beeping at me, telling me I was going too fast and needed to slow down.  Can't say that's ever happened before.

I decided to break my workout up between elliptical for 20 minutes, and bike for 10.  As I was working out, I decided to try intervals of high intensity for 30 seconds, then recovery for 1 minute.  On the elliptical, I was pushing speeds of 5mph for the fast parts - and coming down to about 3.5 for the recovery.  I was dripping sweat about 7 minutes in, that was fueling my fire to go harder.  On the bike, I kept my pace around 12 mph.  Being that I stayed on the elliptical a few minutes longer for the cool-down, I only stayed on the bike for 7 minutes - so I wanted to make it count.  And that I did.  All in all, I felt like it was a good work-out for the short amount of time I had.

Now, let's get to my Biggest Loser Breakdown...shall we?  SPOILER ALERT, for anyone that hasn't watched it yet.

This week, I'll admit that I was happy to not see much drama.  For the first time this entire season, this episode focused on what it's really about.  That would be fighting those inner demons that got them there in the first place.

At the start of the show, Conda and Daphne had a mini blow up.  Which was understandable.  Conda, of course, ran her mouth about Daphne not knowing what she was talking about - but you could see in Daphne's eyes that she was out for blood.  And I don't blame her one bit!

Allison arrived to deliver some news.  One player from each team was going home for a week - and only that person's weight would count on the scale at the end of the week.  It just so happened that Bob and Dolvett chose Conda and Daphne to go home.  Oh, and the trainers got to go with them for the week - leaving the rest of the team behind to fend for themselves.

While they were at home, we got to see a somewhat different side to Conda.  She opened up a little about a troubled time when she was in high school and her parents went through a divorce.  She got emotional and claimed to have had a revelation about why she was really at the ranch.  I almost believed her, too.  I said almost.

If you don't watch the entire episode this week, you should at least check out the scenes of Dolvett babysitting Conda's daughter.  It was so cute.  Dolvett sure knows how to impress the little ones.

Anywho, I'm gonna skip the play by play and get to the nitty gritty.  The black team lost the challenge, which gave the red team a 1lb advantage for Conda.  The black team also lost the weigh in that earned another 1lb advantage for Conda.  The red team really did pull some good numbers.  Roy and Kim both lost 9lbs and Mark lost 10lbs.  So, before Daphne and Conda ever got on the scale - Conda had 2lbs in her favor.  I wasn't happy.  I wanted Daphne to win more than anything.  She really needed the win for herself and her brother.

Well, Daphne was on the scale first and lost an AMAZING 12lbs.  I think everyone on the ranch was as shocked as I was.  Then it was Conda's turn.  With Daphne's loss, and Conda's advantage she needed to lose more than 10lbs to win.  More than 10lbs means 11+.  I always hate the way they say it.  Allison should say "you need to lose at least 11lbs".  Anywho... Conda got on the scale, the numbers rolled, and she lost 10lbs.  Which was NOT the number she needed to win.  She needed one more pound.

Bob and Chism let out a huge yell of celebration - that got a lot of flack on Twitter.  They were accused of being bad sports for cheering.  I say who freakin' cares?  They had every right to be happy.  Daphne had just succeeded - and had shown Conda who's boss.  I would have cheered too, and I did...right in my living room!

Conda, of course, turned the waterworks on immediately saying how she felt terrible for letting her team down.  And off to voting the red team went.  After not being ticked off the entire episode, I was reminded of how much I dislike the red team during the voting.  Kim and Mark went first, claiming that they were voting for the one person who'd lost his edge, lost his passion.  And that person was Roy.  Urm.  WTH?  Roy lost 9lbs this week!  He was, I believe, the 2nd highest loser on the team for the week.  Kimmie had been losing stupid amounts of weight since she'd got there... but Roy was the weak link?  OK, whatever.  Even Allison stepped in after Mark's weak excuse of Roy not putting in his best effort.  She made a very obvious snark towards Mark with "he lost 9lbs this week, that doesn't count for something?"  I was very proud of Allison for saying something... not that it did any good.  Everyone else followed suit after that.  So, Roy was the one sent home.  I was pissed.  Again.

Then, the preview for next week's episode came on.  It appears that a weigh in is going to be thrown next week.  Not sure if it's to get Daphne out of the house - but that's what it was teasing.    The teams look to have been switched a little.  Conda is now wearing black and her brother is wearing a red shirt.  You will see that there is some weight gained - and Bob is PISSED!  As much as I don't want to see the drama, I want to watch the episode.  Although, I already feel like it's going to be my last episode to watch.  I just can't stand the drama anymore.  I watch that show to be inspired, and it's the complete opposite this season.

In other Biggest Loser news - on Feb. 28th, I'm going to get to meet Patrick House!  He's the season 10 winner.  I'm very excited because it was a season I was very close with.  I've even had the honor of exchanging some messages with Patrick on Facebook...so I can't wait!  He's going to be at my gym.  So, there's a fun piece of information to close with.

There will be no gym for me tonight, as Jelly has a dentist appointment.  This weekend, I'm going to see how it goes - but I am determined to get at least 1 more work-out in before my next weigh-in.  I'm earning my $5 this week!

Till next time. ;)

Weigh In Wednesday and Some Biggest Loser Chat

Dear Diary...

It's weigh-in day.  I wasn't excited this morning, because I just knew I was going to see a gain.  I can feel the luggage Aunt Flo has brought with her in the form of bloating...and it sucks!  My fingers are all puffy and swollen, and I'm retaining water faster than the Titanic.

I did have a gain, but not as bad as I thought it'd be.  My weight last week was 238.6lbs.  My weight this week is 239.4lbs.  A gain of 0.8lbs.  I'm a little surprised, because I'm used to at least a 2-3lb gain whenever Aunt Flo is in town.  Maybe that means that all the exercising I did this weekend did have some affect on me, but I guess we'll have to wait until next week to find out.  I do know that despite not earning any money in my Reward Jar from losing weight, I still get to add $5 just because I worked out three times this week.  That's at least something.

It's definitely frustrating having a gain after working out so much.  Well, so much compared to how much I was working out before (aka none).  But, I've also been down this road before.  I know that working out the last few days of the week before a weigh in isn't going to magically cut off a bunch of weight.  I also know that I should take a gain of less than a pound and be very grateful for it with it being this certain time of the month.  Less than a pound is so much better than a 3lbs gain... which is what I feel like it should be with how bloated I am.

I also know, after watching about 5 seasons of the Biggest Loser that it's quite common to have a not so good week after a good week.  Last week, I lost 2.6lbs.  That's the most I've lost at once this year.  It's no surprise that this week wasn't going to be so great.

Speaking of Biggest Loser.  Can I just get a big UGH!!?  Don't worry, I'm not going to spoil anything.  I know that some people don't watch the show the night it's on thanks to DVRs, so I'll hold off on my actual rundown of the show.  I will say, though, I'm very disappointed.

I didn't start watching the Biggest Loser all those years ago because I was so addicted to reality TV that I just couldn't let another reality show pass me by.  In fact, I'm not a huge fan of reality TV because it's usually not very realistic.  I started watching because a friend of mine reached out and said "Hey, if you want some motivation to help lose weight, you should check out Biggest Loser.  It's so motivational".  And you know what?  She was right!  I would watch the show and think every single week "If they can do it weighing 300+ pounds, then so can I!"  But that's not happening this season.

This season has been such a big disappointment.  Well, that's not fair.  If the black team was the only team playing - and Roy a/k/a Santa from the Red team and Kimmie a/k/a the older lady still remaining on the red team - I'd be totally content.  But alas, that's not the case.  There's also the rest of the red team.  And they make my blood boil so much that I just want to say goodbye to the show and cut my losses now.

I'm not going to sit here and pretend that BL hasn't upset me before.  There has been drama in the past.  There's been arguments in the house, there has been game playing, and there has been some really annoying alliances - but to my recollection, there has NEVER been so much hateful, backstabbing, brutal bullying than what I've seen this season.  The red team seemed to have completely lost sight of why they are at the ranch in the first place.  And that makes me very sad.

Seriously, the past couple of episodes could be used in schools to demonstrate the ugly, hateful effects of bullying.  Kim and Conda are no better than two spoiled ass rich girls who have nothing better to do than be in everyone elses business and making their lives a living Hell.  And apparently, they're not happy doing it alone.  Now they feel the need to drag other people in to the mix.  It's so disappointing.

This season may be the season of No Excuses, but it's also the season of No Love.  The one thing that really touched my heart about the show.  It used to be a show where the team, despite the thought that only one of them could win the prize, would work together.  They'd support each other.  They'd rally for each other.  Their hearts would literally break from the thought of having to vote someone off and say goodbye to a team mate.  Not just that, but my heart would break about anyone having to go home.  Now?  I'm sitting there begging and praying that two women would get cast away from the show forever.  I find myself sitting there cursing and frustrated.  I don't like it one bit.

I know that NBC thought it might be a good idea to bring some drama in to the house.  The show is pretty clean cut.  People watching know what to expect - despite the continual curve balls and surprises that are often thrown in to the mix.  But that's where we got our drama - from finding out that couples were being broken up, gym privileges might be taken away, or something along those lines.  NOT a couple of two-faced, stuck up witches being thrown in to tear the self esteem and motivation apart of other players - and the people watching at home.   I just hope that NBC are keeping note of the Twitter action that takes place each week - cause it ain't pretty.  I'm not the only one to have these views.  I read thousands of Tweets last night from people who feel the same way I do.  The drama and bullying just has to go!

OK, I'll step off my soap box - for now.  I'm going to give the show one more week - just to see how last night's shocker (or probably lack thereof) plays out with the rest of the house.  If it's what I'm expecting to happen?  Well, I'll be done with Season 13, and will just wait and hope that Season 14 doesn't follow the same path.

Till next time. ;)
