Finally Friday!

Dear Diary...

It's a bad day today.  A bad allergy day.  It's been coming in waves all week.  Some days are better than others - but yesterday was really bad...and now I'm suffering because of it.

Thursdays are my recess duty days.  Being outside for 20 minutes is enough to send my allergies in to overdrive..and then I spend the rest of the day coughing, sneezing, and wheezing.

After work, Hubby and I decided to take the kids to Logan's for dinner.  Monday through Thursday, Logan's has a really great deal on their food...so we figured we'd have dinner out.  The last time we went was my mom's birthday - and we dropped over $100 for the five of us to eat.  Thankfully, last night was only half that much.

The food was great, I ate too much, and I sat there coughing and sneezing the whole time.  Not exactly the ideal night out - but whatev.

I'm so glad today is Friday.  Just because bad allergies knock me out.  I'm so lethargic, exhausted.  I haven't had a straight night's sleep in almost two weeks, now, and it's just taking a toll on me.

I have to get as much sleep as possible this weekend - because next week, I have to be on my A-game.  During Benchmark testing I will literally spend 6 hours on my feet, silently walking around a classroom.  I will need to be awake, focused.  Not sneezing and coughing every 2 minutes.  How freakin' distracting will that be for those poor kids?

Apart from the steak and onion petals that I ate for dinner last night, I've been doing well on my eating.  Each day I've been loading up on fruits and veggies.  I've been drinking lots of water.  I just know that if I was able to really get some great work-outs in, the weight would be flying off of me.  But because of my stupid allergies - I can't.  BOO!

I sound like a broken record, don't I?  I'm sorry.  When I feel all crappy and down because of my allergies, I call out the Whambulance and whine about it.   There's just not much else to write about when every minute of my current life is consumed with hacking, snot, and breathing inhalers.

Oh, but that's not even the worse of it.  I realized yesterday, that if I'm not careful I can actually cough enough to pee all over myself.  Yep. You heard that right, folks, I have finally reached a point where my coughing is so bad - it causes my bladder to explode...uncontrollably.  Go ahead and laugh, it's OK, I don't mind.

Driving home from the restaurant last night, I had a coughing fit while sitting at a stop light.  I didn't even have the urge to pee - but once I started hacking... BAM!  It wasn't enough to see through my pants - but enough to be uncomfortable with the fact that I know that pee could possibly escape every time I cough really bad.  My kids thought it was hilarious - I told them they shouldn't laugh.  It's there fault I'm unable to control stuff like that from happening.

Of course, blaming them led to a conversation as to why it was there fault.  Not something I planned ahead, obviously.  I had to explain how when a woman carries a baby, the baby plays soccer with her internal organs.  Beats the crap out of her bladder and kidneys and other stuff.  I wasn't about to go in to the fact that delivering babies the size of 8lb watermelons through a water faucet causes permanent damage to said water faucet...making it more like a drain hole.  I'll save that nugget of valuable information until they're a little bit older.

Well, I guess I'll keep it short and sweet today.  I better get my behind in gear and get ready for work.

Till next time. ;)

  1. I really hope your allergies clear up. I remember having them really bad when I vacationed in New Zealand last year. Me and Mother Nature just don't mix I guess :). My eyes were puffy and I was irritable too.

    Have a wonderful Weekend.
