Mini Goal Monday

Another week is here.  Another list of goals need to be made.  It's time to step away from the same ol' same ol' - this week, I'm mixing things up a little.

So, if you don't know by now, you've either been living under a rock OR you haven't been reading my blog...shame, shame... but last week I was snowed in ALL week except for Monday.  Snow days bring HAVOC to my plans and mini-goals, because I usually just end up eating too much, sleeping too much, and sitting too much.

Last week, I didn't sleep too much or eat too much - really.  I didn't exercise as much as I should have - but it looks as though I'm going to get sometime this week to make up for it...thanks to another kick @ss winter storm that is heading this way for Wednesday.

I started the week out pretty strong, last week.  I did Yoga on Monday and Tuesday.  Then I lost my water Wednesday - Friday.  No water meant no showers and no drinking water... so no working out or drinking water on those days.  Friday, after not getting to work out, I pushed myself to do 2 work-out DVDs.  I was desperate to get some kind of activity in - and so the DVDs came to my aid.

This week, I'm changing things up a little on my goal list.  Because the weather is, once again, reporting the chance of heavy snow later this week - I'm putting off my C25K training for another week...just until I can get back outside.

Here's the line up for this week:
  • Yoga - each day (depending on whether or not I have to work will determine the time)
  • Plan my meals
  • Drink at least 60ozs of water each day
  • Get in at least 30 minutes of work-out DVDs and/or Zumba in each day
  • Take my lunch to work with me each day - on the days that I work
  • Go to bed at 9am each WORK night
  • Start new blog project
Yep, pretty much the same... but a little different.  Rather than doing my running, I'm opting to go with work-out DVDs.  I'm hoping that it will help get some strength training into my routine - because I need it.  Running, alone, just isn't cutting it.  I'm not seeing the results I want in my weigh-ins - and I know it's because I'm not burning enough calories.  I'm expecting the scale to reflect that on Wednesday, once again, so hopefully adding some variety in to my work-outs will help next week.

Also, you notice the last goal?  I'm going to be starting a new blog.  Don't panic - this will still remain my main blog.  I've decided to start a new blog for my writing, my thoughts, and answer some questions that I don't like to discuss on this blog.  I've received a few emails and comments, lately about my religious beliefs - or lack there of.  I haven't shared my views on religion too often here, well, because this is my weight loss blog.  Sure, I blog about my life - but religion is a whole different world for me.  It's one that raises many questions, personal opinions, and sometimes...even persecution.  So, I decided, to battle those questions and even answer some of my own, I'm going to start a new blog - to share my beliefs.... as well as my spiritual journey.

I will let you all know, if you're interested, when that's all up and running.

Well, I better run, I actually have to get ready for work this morning.

What's one goal you're making for yourself this week?

Till next time. ;)

  1. Can't wait to read your next blog. I'll be your first follower!

If you're getting a winter storm that probably means I am too. I have to admit, I'm pretty much sick of winter. I'm not usually one to complain about the weather, but it seems my daughter has been out of school more than she has been in school and I'm starting to see it affect her a little.

But anyway. My goal for the week? To not use ANY of my weekly allowance of extra Weight Watchers points. I will use my daily allotted points and that's it. This will require planning each day, but I think that I really really need that.

On a brighter note, my goal last week was to have only ONE indulgent treat for the week, which was a homemade chocolate/peanut butter milkshake on Tuesday. I'm happy to report I MET that goal. I'd told my husband about my goal last week and he was so super helpful and supportive. Left to our own devices, he and I would have something like that EVERY night. So having him on board was so awesome!

I hope you have a wonderful day, Joanna!

  3. Thanks, ladies!!

Yeah, I love to write - but I often feel like what I have to say isn't really "appropriate" for this blog. I've been studying, soul searching, and writing (in journals) for a long time... and I finally feel ready to share it all with the world.

It's going to be my "Snowed in" project this week. Should keep me busy. :)
