No Snow is Going to Hold Me Down!!

The forecast for our area for the next 7 days...OUCH!!
It's Day 5 of my being stuck at home because of the winter storm.  Yesterday, we got POUNDED once again with another 5 or 6" of snow...that added to the 5 or 6" that was already on the ground.   The weather forecasters are staying that we are in for more snow tomorrow and AGAIN on Tuesday or Wednesday.  I'm really starting to feel like I live in Alaska - NOT Arkansas.

So, we got our water pipes defrosted - finally - yesterday.  I was so happy.  That was until we discovered that our sewage pipes were frozen...DOH!!

Luckily, one bathroom is functional - and the sewage pipes in that bathroom are not frozen.  My house has the crappiest plumbing job that I've ever seen.  So, even though we can use the toilet and take a shower - the rest of the house's water can't be used because of the frozen sewage pipes.  That means no dishwasher, no washer.  I can't wash the piles of dishes that have stacked up - and I can't wash all the clothes that have piled up.

Well, I can.  I just have to go all "pioneer woman" and haul the dishes to the functional bathtub...but I can't help but say EWW!!  Something about washing dishes in the bathtub rubs me the wrong way - but I will do what I have to do.  I've decided that we all have enough clothes to last us a while - so I am NOT ready to start hand washing clothes - just yet.

So, yesterday, I kept my promise about dusting off my work-out DVDs and getting a good snow day work-out. I found all of my work-out DVDs - there are several - and played Eenie Meeny to pick out one to do. I landed on Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred.  I didn't even remember owning the Shred... but I do, and it was time to put it to use!!

I did the Level One 20 minute circuit: 3 mins strength, 2 mins cardio, 1 min abs x 3.  It hurt!  I used muscles that have NOT been getting the attention they deserve, obviously.  After the work-out, I was sweaty and feeling much better.... but that wasn't enough.  I WANTED more.

After a short break, I rummaged through my DVDs again, and found Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Fat - 5 Miles.  This is one of my favorite work-out DVDs.  It's low impact - but offers a great work-out of the whole body.  I did the full 5 mile work-out...and was completely soaked with sweat when I was done.

After my work-out, I felt SOOOO much better.  I wasn't stressing about the frozen sewage pipes, I wasn't grumpy about being stuck in the house... I felt content - almost.  Jumping in a hot shower made the content completely come.

Looking at the forecast for the next week (above), it appears that my DVDs are going to get A LOT of use this coming week.  This may not be a bad thing.  I've been wanting to do some strength training, and know that my running just isn't cutting it as enough working out...it may be possible that I see my best weigh-in yet, next week.

On the agenda for today?  Washing dishes in the bathtub..that's got to burn some calories, right?  Some Jillian style Yoga - and maybe some Zumba.  Haven't completely decided, yet, but I know that I want to feel as good as I did yesterday.

How is everyone doing today?
Got any fun plans for the weekend?
Just say hi, if nothing else, if need to know that there is still civilization outside of my snowed in compound..LOL

Till next time.  ;)
