BYOC - Sorry, Been Out This Morning.. But Better Late than Never

It's time for BYOC - Bring Your Own Crazy.  If you don't know the drill by know - you've a) been living under a rock, b) haven't been reading my blog on Fridays (shame, shame) or c) you just happened to stumble on my blog...and I'm so glad you decided to drop by and see what kinds of crazy stuff I write about.

Whatever your reasoning is for having no idea what I'm talking about - every Friday, I link up with my buddy Drazil.  She comes up with some crazy, random questions...and we post our answers.  You get to join in, too, if you want... just answer the questions in the comments or on your own blog and let me know so I can read your answers.

1. Let's stick with the pictures/exercise and shoe topic and post a picture of (or describe) your work out shoes.
Well, when I first started exercising - I felt the need to try all those expensive, "professional" athletic shoes.  A year later - I now have about 4 pairs of sneakers... but only one that I can actually work-out in.  That would be the pair I bought from Target, that cost less than $20.

They're not a name brand - but they are comfortable.  All of the other shoes hurt my feet or gave me shin splints...and yes, I had them "professionally" fitted.

With my cheap-o's, I can run for miles and have absolutely no feet or leg pain.  Guess price isn't always better.  They are pink and white - and I LOVE THEM!!

2. Again with the summer/hot theme of the week....what does your current swimsuit look like?

I'm not the girl that buys a new swimsuit every year.. GASP!! I know.  It's a crime to the female race.  BUT, in my defense - I never felt the need to buy a new bathing suit.  The only time I ever swam was at my parent's house....I wasn't about to swim in public.  So, the same suit every year was all I needed.  It was a boring, black, one piece.

Last year, I decided to finally bite the bullet and buy a new bathing suit...cause, well, I felt better about the way I looked...and even decided to venture into the world of "public pools".  Plus, my old suit was WAY too big... it was a 22/24 and I was down to a size 18.  I felt so good, actually, I took the dive (haha..pun definitely intended) and went with a two-piece.  Not a bikini...that will never happen - even after losing more weight, the destruction my children left to my mid-section will never be revealed to the open public, thankyouverymuch.  It was a two piece, black suit with a halter top and boi short bottoms.  They meet, nicely, in the middle - so no mid-section skin exposure.

This year, I had planned on sporting my two piece once again...when wouldn't you freakin' know it - it was too big...ugh...love it when that happens.  No, really.. I DO love it when that happens!!  I still use it when I'm at my mom's - but it won't be going anywhere public with me, cause the shorts fall down and the top rides up.

I decided to buy a one-piece...for "public" swimming.  It's cute.  It's white with pink and gray flowers.  I finally ditched the black bathing suits!! HOORAY!!

3. Do you lay out, fake bake, sunless spray tan or use tanning lotion?

Urm...none of the above.  I know.  You're starting to think I'm not even a woman at all...I am, promise!!

Every year, though, I always end up with a nice tan.  I get a tan just from stepping foot outside.  After my camping trip last weekend, I'm sporting a nice tan right now.  Even my legs are no longer the pasty beige shade they usually are.

I also get a tan from swimming - which I do quite a bit... but it's usually just my upper body.

4. Describe your week in blogland and in real life.

This week, in blogland, things have been kind of solemn.  After a disastrous (in weight loss terms) camping trip, I spent the week reflecting on all of the stupid mistakes I made like not drinking water, and eating way too much.

On a more positive note, yesterday, I found out that I won the Feature Blog Contest at flogmyblog.net.  Thank you everyone that voted for me!!  My prize is a featured spot on their website for my blog, and I got to do a blogging interview...that should be up later this week and I will post a link to it then.

In real life, things have been pretty good.  I spent the night with my parents Wednesday night...got home yesterday evening.  Hubby bought me EA Active Trainer 2 for the PS3...so I will have another work-out to add to my line-up.  I figure with Supreme 90 day, boot camp, and running...I could always use another work-out program, right?  Actually, I'm thinking that now it's getting hotter than Satan's balls outside - the EA Active Trainer will be a great cardio work-out to replace running and/or boot camp on days that it's just too dang hot to be outside.  Which, I guess means every day for the next two months?

My plan is to use EA Trainer for cardio, follow it with Supreme 90 day for strength...and then go running when I feel like it.  I don't like depending on my running for exercise, anyway, because running is my "me-time"...it's for my mental health, not my physical health.

Still no change in the job department.  I'm supposed to find out today whether or not I got the job at the Catholic school... but I've kind of excepted the fact that it's not going to happen.  The principal decided to interview people after me...so despite being desperate to feel the position, I obviously wasn't the person he was looking for.

OK, so that's it for BYOC for me.  Now it's your turn.  It's time for me to go try out EA Active Trainer.  Jelly seems to be more excited than I am....she's such a great work-out partner.

Till next time. ;)

  1. Good luck with hearing about your job prospect.

It's swimsuit season and I swear everyone has reservations. I'm nervous about wearing a two-piece end of july in front of a large group since I'm going on a cruise. I think we can be our own worse critic though.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for sharing!
